About

I’m a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience. My work has been primarily with children and families. I am an approved School Social Worker and have an endorsement as an Infant Family Specialist. In addition, I have a Certificate in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I am committed to offering evidence-based services that produce significant, permanent changes for the child and the family.

My Clinical Practice

I help children and their parents (or caregivers), navigate challenges such as trauma, school concerns,  friendship issues, familial losses (including death and divorce), developmental concerns, and gender identity issues. I offer parental guidance and coaching as well as school/educational consultations. I work from a strengths-based, collaborative perspective within the theoretical framework of a growth mindset.

I am accepting new clients for Saturday appointments.

Supervision & Consultation

I have earned the NASW Certificate in Core Supervision. In addition to my clinical practice, I offer supervision Social Workers and MSW and BSW interns. I also offer consultations to school and community organizations.

Other Professional Experience

I am a faculty in the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan and Wayne State University.  I have served on the NASW  Chapter Ethics Committee since 2010 and am currently the Chair of the Committee.

Personal

I am a life-long Michigander. My BS degree is from Central Michigan University and my MSW is from the University of Michigan.  I am married and the mother of two young adults. My hobbies are writing, photography, and bike riding.
